On the water in Suisun on the marina Wonderful Mediterranean food ....service great. Terrific find in the Fairfield fast food wasteland.
This is the Greek food you are looking for. What else needs to be said? Service is friendly, the owner even checked on us.
My best friend wanted to take me to lunch for my birthday, and wanted to try a new restaurant. After considering several options, we decided on Athenian Grill, as it's a local favorite. While I have previously ordered takeout from there, this would be my first time dining in since their reopening. We made a reservation in advance, knowing their popularity and potential wait times. We arrived at the restaurant as soon as it opened and were among the first customers. We chose to dine on the patio, as the weather conditions were ideal. All the staff members were exceptionally friendly and approachable. My friend opted for the Chicken Souvlaki Plate with lentil soup. I decided to have a Cheeseburger and fries. While we waited for our food, the view was absolutely peaceful. Despite it being a Saturday afternoon, the foot traffic was surprisingly minimal. The marina was a beautiful view, and I will definitely chose patio dining again in the future. The meal was delivered within an appropriate timeframe. All of the food items were fresh, warm, and delicious. Our server was very attentive and accommodating. As we enjoyed our meal and admired the view, the place really began to attract customers. I strongly suggest making a reservation to avoid an extended waiting period. It's easy to see why this restaurant is a local favorite. The employees, quality of food and the view, make sure you want to come back. I will definitely be coming back in the future.
Three of us went for a late lunch and it was absolutely delicious. I had mousaka which was superb, my friend loved her delicious pita falafel, and the pita lamb souvlaki was perfectly cook moist and so very tasty...the place is spotless, very clean and inviting. I plan to return to try everything on the menu...Our server was really helpful and knowledgeable answering all our question. We sat outside in the open patio, beautiful day with nice peaceful views. Looking forward to a return visit... Opa ooa
The food is fantastic, the people are great !! I went there with our neighborhood women's group, then the next day with my sisters. We ordered a variety of dishes, all were tasty and bountiful! Great job!
Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Felt like I was at a beach house Calling all Coffee lovers! They now have pastries and coffee on the weekends. Amazing pastries made from a local baker. Coffee was the perfect combination of sweet and strong. Avocado toast is a must try if you like avocado toast. The owner came over and spoke with us and was so lovely and sweet. They also offer a bouquet station where you can make your own bouquet of flowers for $10.
We got here early and they only had coffee and pastries for breakfast. We stuck around for lunch. It took a while for our food to come out however, it was worth the wait. Our gyros were stuffed with meat. I wasn't a fan of the soup. I prefer it more simple and more lemony. This sweet potato fries were to die for. Looking forward to coming back again.
Warning, kind of a long review... Came in for early lunch on a Saturday, about 1130am. The hostess sat us fairly quickly; there were only about 3 other groups sitting indoors & outdoor seating looked full. It was a beautiful day to be outside, but we didn't want to deal with any flies wanting to share our meal so we opted to sit inside. LOL Our server came over shortly after to take our drink order. We decided on just water and the fried zucchini as our appetizer. For our entrees, we had the pastrami sandwich w/side salad & cheeseburger, no onions, no thousand island dressing, w/fries. When our zucchini was brought to our table, our server even included a cup of ranch dressing as another dip option (along with the tzatziki)! We were very appreciative since we both forgot to ask for ranch. It was delicious! Stayed crunchy, not soggy whatsoever and def not oily like some places can be. As we were sitting there, I kind of wondered what was taking awhile for our entrees (although from past visits I know the kitchen is a little slower than other restaurants)...come to find out, the other server had picked up our plates and served it to a different table! Our server was mortified about the mistake. Things happen, she apologized multiple times and told us the manager would comp our appetizer for the mistake. Maaaaybe another 10-15 min went by and our entrees arrived. The taste, flavors and quality of our entrees were great. Bottom line, if you're looking for a "quick" meal, this isn't this place. Give yourself at least 2 hours..we were done with lunch around 1:30-1:40.
Met an old friend here for lunch. I was a few minutes early and was kindly greeted by staff. I told them I was meeting someone and they were all too happy to seat me and get me some iced tea while I waited. The menu has a wide variety of Mediterranean options. I decided to try the lamb stew. While it was on the brothy side, it was very flavourful and it was served on a bed of rice along with pita bread. My friend ordered the gyro sandwich, which looked really good. The dining room filled up pretty quickly over the lunch hour and the server team was comprised of two hard working staff members. It was a little tough for them to keep up, but they did a pretty good job. The place is clean, offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and is relatively comfortable. I'm sure I'll be back. I'm just not sure how long it will be before I return.
